I never really thought about how much water is lost everyday and how I can prevent alot of water being lost. I turn off the water when i brush my teeth and when i shave now. I take shorter showers always under 10 minutes somtimes i have gotten my showers down to 6 minutes compared to before when they where around 15 minutes. Little things you do everyday can help the environment become more "green."

My family only uses 45 and a half gallons per day per person. The average is 80m so we are doing pretty well. Now since i brought up how many gallons of water per day and gallons per year my family is focusing on taking shorter showers. Finally we are going green.

I never realized how much water I use in such simple activities. I now try to take shorter showers and I don't leave the water running when I'm washing my dishes. My whole family does a very good job conserving water, but thanks to this survey, we can do even better!

In my house, I tend to take long showers. I doubt this will change (im being honest), but I can do other things such as turn the water off when I brush my teeth, change my shower head, water my lawn at night, not let the water run while im doing dishes etc. I can also finish all the water I take when drinking it out of water bottles. These measures do impact my daily routine, especially at work on Saturdays. I have to clean a lot of dishes, and I know now how much water I waste. Starting last week I have been turning the water off when it was not being used.

I've always used a small amount of water. I don't take long showers too often and I never leave the water running when I brush my teeth. It's a habit for me to turn it off. Other members of my family leave it on and when I see that, I'm forced to shut it off for them while reminding them that there is no reason to waste water. I don't wash dishes so I can't saying anything about that, but I think my Dad is going to make another garden this year. My thought was to maybe install a gray water system to conserve water and help the garden.

Till we took the Water Use Analysis Survey, i never realized how much water is being wasted in my house over simple activites. I never thought that my family was wasting so much water, so i talked to them and now we take shorter showers(8-15 min), we turn the water off while brusing our teeth, my dad and i turn the water of while shaving, we replaced our shower heads, and also my mom uses less water while washing the dishes. These measure dont really impact our daily routine becuase they are simple steps. And, the shorter showers in the morning give us more time to eat breakfast and get ready for school and work.

I went onto a water conservation site to get more tips about conserving water and found some interesting ideas on how to conserve water. The site gave me the idea to use grey water to water plants around the house, store drinking water in the refrigerator instead of using the tap and using a bowl of water to clean fruits and vegetables instead of running them under water.

When I see my mum washing the dishes I remind her to not let the water running. When i wash the car i use all the soap on the car then jsut rinse the car once so I cna conserve water that way. as sai said about doing shorter showers it saves my dad money, the environment water, and gives me more time to do other things. My family actually uses the water that is collects from the gutter water, my mum liked the idea and uses it to water her flowers.

josh, i just read your idea about using gutter water to water the plants and my mom thought that was a great idea. Also, i was reading through the USEPA's (united states environment protection agency) and i found some pretty good ideas on how to conserve a few gallons a day, which would add up to be alot in the end.

-Faucet aerators: reduce the amount of water used in sinks, reduce it by 1-3 gallons a day

-Gray water use, as nathan stated

Water is teh life source for all life. Conservation is crucial to responsible use by using low flush toilets and shower heads as well as as sai said gray water and faucet aerators as well as using rainwater with rain buckets to water plants there are plenty of wayrs to conserve water. Even just taking shorter showers and not letting the water run. For example we have a leak in our thermalizer i started putting a cup under it that we use to refill it instead of using new water.
